In the Spring time, the Red Tricycle staff organized a contest "Daddy and Me" and this particular family won it. The prize was a family photo session with me, a local Seattle Family Photographer.

After our photo session Molly, the Mother of 2 great boys wrote:

Hi Tuba-

Just wanted to let you know we had our family photo shoot with Anita Nowacka this morning and had such an amazing time. After we had to post-pone a few times due to illnesses, conflicts and rain, we finally made it happen....and it was so worth the wait. The weather was perfect, and she was patient with the kids, thoughtful with her set-ups, and creative with her shots. We couldn't have asked for a more flexible, supportive and talented photographer! She is an artist at heart and realizes that these things can't be rushed or staged; they have to unfold on their own. We truly appreciate that mentality and will be recommending her to friends and family for quite a while! She showed us several photos as she was taking them, and we're so excited to see them all next month.

Thank you again for the opportunity, and please continue to support Anita on Red Tricycle as she has a lot to offer to the community!

Molly

 •
Seattle Photographer

This image was taken at the end of our long family session with Kingsley, a busy toddler. Sometimes I start my photo sessions at this point at Alki Beach. Sometimes I end my work with families there, where the light and Seattle skyline can be just splendid.
•
Seattle Family Photography

It was a Summer of 2009 when I had a family photo session with a family of 4. The temperature in Seattle on that day reached 103 degrees! Seattle recorded the hottest temperature in its history that Wednesday! We made dynamic images, laughing, enjoying the scene while my lens kept fogging up. All in Lake Washington since it was the only place to be and feel comfortable. This was one of the final images from the session. A quiet moment between a father and son.

 •
Seattle Family Photography

Old Movie Chairs. Excellent props. They've served me through few photo sessions and art shows over the years. These days they can not be moved around any more. They retired and can be seen propping the mossy fence in Madrona's neighborhood.

 •
Seattle Family Photography

I was swimming laps at the warm ponds. The mother was hugging her child and enjoying the warmth of the Hawaiian evening. I was through with my swim and asked if I could take a photo of them. The father joined in and a family portrait was made. I don't know if I ever hear from them. They were from Denmark, taking a road trip.
 •
Seattle Family Photography

Johan's lesson in confidence and trust. It was a lovely afternoon on Camano Island photographing kids.
 •
Seattle Family Photography

My father took this photo of me when I was about five. I included this image on my website as a tribute to him, a Polish photographer. He photographed with similar principles in mind: attention to composition and energy of the subject matter.
 •
Seattle Family Photography

Gas Works Park, Seattle is one of my favorite parks for photographing families. Kids are always intrigued there by the bounty of colors, structures and details. For instance the rivets behind the subjects in this photo get a lot of attention: they are being pointed at, touched and looked at by kids. While that goes on, I photograph.

 •
Seattle Toddler Photography

Towards the end of the family photosession at Seward Park, the kids stopped for a drink. I don't remember if the water ever came out for the thirsty kids, but the photo did...
 •
Seattle Family Photography

Shilshole Bay is the place where the light and mood is right. Seattle rain was just around the corner though...
 •
Seattle Family Photography

Do you wish for instant laughter during your photo session? Ask a parent to throw a child up in the air and you've got it. I call that an instant emotional prop....

 •
Family Photos, Seattle, WA

This is an image of my dear friend and colleague, Savanah, and her daughter Kaitlyn. I was invited to a late Summer barbecue at their house to celebrate Kaitlyn's departure to London for school. When the evening was heading to it's end, Savanah sat in a hammock and Kaitlyn joined her. I remember how their eyes locked and so much was expressed between the Mother and Daughter, who was leaving home for a long time.

In reviewing her portfolio online, I found her eye for composition and palette in her photographs to be both sophisticated and delightful. Her images, rather than appearing cliche or contrived, portray an easy and organic quality. Working with Anita was an absolute pleasure. Her communication and rapport before, during and after our session was superb. I couldn't be more pleased with the process and the photographs of me and my daughter."
